Iris
Goo Goo Dolls

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
'Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

Figured You Out
Nickelback

I like your pants around your feet
And I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While your looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I love the places that we go
And I love the people that you know
And I love the way you can't say no
Too many long lines in a row
I love the powder on your nose

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)

I like the freckles on your chest
And I like the way you like me best
And I like the way you're not impressed
While you put me to the test
I like the white stains on your dress

And I love the way you pass the check
And I love the good times that you wreck
And I love your lack of self-respect
While you passed out on the deck
I love my hands around your neck

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)
(Why not before, you never tried)
(Gone for good, and this is it)

I like your pants around your feet
And I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While your looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I hate the places that we go
And I hate the people that you know
And I hate the way you can't say no
Too many long lines in a row
I hate the powder on your nose

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)
(Why not before, you never tried)
(Gone for good, and this is it)

Far Away
Nickelback

Beautiful song....

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
'Cause you know,
you know, you know

[CHORUS]
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me
and you'll never go
Stop breathing if
I don't see you anymore

On my knees, I'll ask
Last chance for one last dance

'Cause with you, I'd withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I'd give it all
I'd give for us
Give anything but I won't give up
'Cause you know,
you know, you know

[CHORUS]

So far away
Been far away for far too long
So far away
Been far away for far too long
But you know, you know, you know

I wanted
I wanted you to stay
'Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
Hold on to me and, never let me go

I want to thank my friend, Senator Bill Frist, for joining us today. You're doing a heck of a job. You cut your teeth here, right? That's where you started practicing? That's good. He married a Texas girl, I want you to know. Karyn is with us. A West Texas girl, just like me.

For Mark Adrian, my hero...

Go the Distance
Michael Bolton

I have often dreamed, of a far off place
Where a hero's welcome, would be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer, when they see my face
And a voice keeps saying, this is where I'm meant to be

I'll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, if I can be strong
I know ev'ry mile, will be worth my while
When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong

Down an unknown road, to embrace my fate
Though that road may wander, it will lead me to you
And a thousand years, would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime, but somehow I'll see it through

And I won't look back, I can go the distance
And I'll stay on track, no, I won't accept defeat
It's an uphill slope, but I won't lose hope
Till I go the distance, and my journey is complete

But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part
For a hero's strength is measured by his heart

Like a shooting star, I will go the distance
I will search the world, I will face its' harms
I don't care how far, I can go the distance
Till I find my hero's welcome, waiting in your arms

I will search the world, I will face its harms
Till I find my hero's welcome, waiting in your arms

I would really like to learn how to play the guitar. This idea hit me when I was already in my late teens! It kinda depressed me to know that I can't play a single musical instrument. So I decided before its too late (as if learning to play a guitar in my 20's is not late!!!) that I will play the guitar. Talk about sheer determination.

But before anything else, I need money to buy the instrument. ; )

I'm not much of a poet and a poem reader (can't find the exact term). I can't even understand the simplest of lines. One time, just for the heck of it, I read Pablo Neruda's Tonight I Write the Saddest Lines. And guess what?!! I enjoyed it. The cheesy lines and all. I can't forgive myself for saying this but its one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read...actually, its the 4th serious poem I have read..not counting those kindergarten craps my teacher thought me. I posted it here for you to read. Enjoy!

Tonight I Write (the saddest lines)
Pablo Neruda

I can write the saddest poem of all tonight.

Write, for instance: "The night is full of stars,
and the stars, blue, shiver in the distance."

The night wind whirls in the sky and sings.

I can write the saddest poem of all tonight.
I loved her, and sometimes she loved me too.

On nights like this, I held her in my arms.
I kissed her so many times under the infinite sky.

She loved me, sometimes I loved her.
How could I not have loved her large, still eyes?

I can write the saddest poem of all tonight.
To think I don't have her. To feel that I've lost her.

To hear the immense night, more immense without her.
And the poem falls to the soul as dew to grass.

What does it matter that my love couldn't keep her.
The night is full of stars and she is not with me.

That's all. Far away, someone sings. Far away.
My soul is lost without her.

As if to bring her near, my eyes search for her.
My heart searches for her and she is not with me.

The same night that whitens the same trees.
We, we who were, we are the same no longer.

I no longer love her, true, but how much I loved her.
My voice searched the wind to touch her ear.

Someone else's. She will be someone else's. As she once
belonged to my kisses.
Her voice, her light body. Her infinite eyes.

I no longer love her, true, but perhaps I love her.
Love is so short and oblivion so long.

Because on nights like this I held her in my arms,
my soul is lost without her.

Although this may be the last pain she causes me,
and this may be the last poem I write for her.

Word for the Day: Palindrome

A palindrome is a word, phrase, number or other sequence of units (such as a strand of DNA) that has the property of reading the same in either direction (the adjustment of punctuation and spaces between words is generally permitted). The word "palindrome" was coined from Greek roots Greek πάλιν (palin) "back" and δρóμος (dromos) "way, direction" by English writer Ben Jonson in the 1600s. Composing literature in palindromes is an example of constrained writing.

Three famous English palindromes are: "Able was I ere I saw Elba," honoring the first exile of Napoleon; "A man, a plan, a canal: Panama," (by Leigh Mercer, commemorating Theodore Roosevelt or Ferdinand Lesseps), and "Madam, in Eden I'm Adam," (a reference to the creation story in the Bible). (This last example is still palindromic if "in Eden" is omitted. The response would be a one-word palindrome, "Eve.")

More examples
"Fall leaves after leaves fall"
"First Ladies rule the State and state the rule: ladies first"
12/02/2021 for February 12th, 2021, using the DD/MM/YYYY format

Borrow money from people.

Borrowers are Prosper members who want to borrow money from other people and get a better deal than the credit card or loan rates offered by banks.

Rates are low because Prosper lenders are people—like you—who want a fair shake from honest borrowers without all the fees and hassles of doing business with big banks.

Borrowing money through Prosper is fast and easy, and because you're borrowing from people, the rates may be lower than you'd expect!

Here's how it works.....

1. Register with Prosper
Registration is quick and easy. And free!

2. Join a Group
Build lender trust by joining a trusted group.

3. Create a Loan Listing Say how much you want to borrow, and what your maximum interest rate is.

4. Watch the Bidding Lenders start bidding immediately - watch the funding go up and the interest rate come down!

5. You Win! If your terms are met, your loan will be funded directly to your bank account.

6. Easy monthly payments Your monthly loan payments are withdrawn automatically from your bank account.

Prosper, America's first people-to-people lending marketplace, was created to make consumer lending more financially and socially rewarding for everyone.

The way Prosper works is intuitive to people who have used eBay. Instead of listing and bidding on items, people list and bid on loans using Prosper's online auction platform.

People who want to lend set the minimum interest rate they are willing to earn and bid in increments of $50 to $25,000 on loan listings they select. People who lend can easily diversify using "standing orders", which automatically make many small loans to different borrowers.

In addition to criteria commonly used by institutional lenders, such as credit scores, people who lend can consider borrowers' group affiliations. Groups on Prosper are critical to bringing people together for the common goal of borrowing at better rates. Groups earn reputations according to their members' repayment records. Groups with successful repayment histories should attract more lenders offering lower rates.

Borrowers create loan listings for up to $25,000 and set the maximum rate they are willing to pay a lender. Then the auction begins as people who lend bid down the interest rate. Once the auction ends, Prosper takes the bids with the lowest rates and combines them into one simple loan. Prosper handles all on-going loan administration tasks including loan repayment and collections on behalf of the matched borrower and lenders.

Wow!!!According to Forbes, this house is worth a staggering $139 million.
Thanks to shifting exchange rates, Updown Court is still, it appears, the most expensive home in the world. And no wonder: The unlived-in mansion encompasses 103 rooms, five swimming pools and its own 50-seat screening room. The property oozes opulence, from the 24-carat-gold leafing on the library floor to the heated marble driveway. With your own squash court, bowling alley and tennis court, you may never need to leave--except to visit the queen at nearby Windsor Castle. It is listed with Hamptons International and Savills. Winner, Dumbest Moment, Marketing

No joke here. Just suffice it to say that the literal translation of the Spanish word cajeta is "little box." With the help of Latin pop sensation Thalia Sodi, Hershey introduces Cajeta Elegancita, a new candy bar for the Hispanic market. Though the wrapper features a picture of Sodi, apparently she neglects to fill her Yanqui partners in on a subtlety of Spanish: In Mexico, "cajeta" can be used to mean "nougat." Elsewhere in the Spanish-speaking world, however, it's slang for female anatomy.

I took a Multiple Intelligence Test at Tickle.com. I really don't think the result fits me... Heck, I can't even remember the color of Ran's hair (a character in Super Gals, one of my favorite cartoon shows) when a friend asked me what's her hair color. And to think that I watch it almost everyday...

Oh well...

You're smartest when it comes to visual/spatial intelligence

Others may take their environments for granted but not you. Because of your visual/spatial intelligence you really see the world around you. This strength often helps you better appreciate the beauty and detail in everyday things. From shapes in nature to the structure of a fine automobile, a countless variety of things hold your interest.
Having this particular kind of heightened awareness can allow you to form accurate mental images of existing places and objects. In extreme cases, one might call this strength a photographic memory. Being visually/spatially intelligent also means that you likely have a vivid imagination that can be put to use in a variety of creative or professional endeavors.

These days, all that's in my mind is football, football and football...Did I mention football? Guess the World Cup fever is very contagious... My bet is of course, Brazil... With the exceptional talents of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Adriano, and Kaka combined, the trophy will surely be in their hands...

I would like Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal to win as the Best Young Player of the 2006 FIFA World Cup...(Sigh) I just love the man...(Sigh)

Left with nothing else to do, (tapos nang maglaba, kumain at matulog) I watched 50 First Dates starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. I was deeply touched by the love and sacrifice of Henry...Call me corny but I really cried.. *sob. The story reminds me of The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks...
Also, Rob Scheider as Ula is pretty hilarious... I nearly passed out laughing in the scene where Rob was chased by Drew with a baseball bat....(don't comment!!!)
Overall, the movie is something I won't probably forget...

I don't really like to read self-help and inspirational books. Before, I was like, who needs them anyway? One day, our boss forced me to read Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People". Yeah, you heard it right. I was forced to read a book with a corny title. Little did I know that this book with a corny title could change my view on things, life, and relationships. Hell, it even changed my life.

I would like to share to you a summary of the book. These simple yet powerful words became my constant guide in doing things.

Fundamental Techniques for Handling People:

  • Don't criticize, condemn or complain.
  • Give people a feeling of importance; praise the good parts of them.
  • Get the other person to want to do what you want them to by arousing their desires.

Six Ways to Make People Like You:

  • Be genuinely interested in other people.
  • Smile.
  • Remember and use people's names.
  • Encourage others to talk about themselves and listen to them.
  • Discuss what the other person is interested in.
  • Make the other person feel important.

Twelve Ways to Win People to Your Way of Thinking:

  • Avoid arguments.
  • Show respect for the other person's opinions. Never tell someone they are wrong.
  • If you're wrong, admit it quickly and emphatically.
  • Begin in a friendly way.
  • Start with questions the other person will answer yes to.
  • Let the other person do the talking.
  • Let the other person feel the idea is his/hers.
  • Try honestly to see things from the other person's point of view.
  • Sympathize with the other person.
  • Appeal to noble motives.
  • Dramatize your ideas.
  • Throw down a challenge.

Nine Ways to Change People Without Giving Offense or Arousing Resentment:

  • Begin with praise and honest appreciation.
  • Call attention to other people's mistakes indirectly.
  • Talk about your own mistakes first.
  • Ask questions instead of giving direct orders.
  • Let the other person save face.
  • Praise every improvement.
  • Give them a fine reputation to live up to.
  • Encourage them by making their faults seem easy to correct.
  • Make the other person happy about doing what you suggest.

Isn't it ironic? Before I really hate self- help books. Today, a self-help book tops my list of favorite books...
